OSHA Signs Alliance with NUCA of South Florida

The new alliance between OSHA's Fort Lauderdale Area Office and NUCA of South Florida will focus on cave-in protection, silica, heat stress, and atmospheric hazards associated with confined spaces.

OSHA has signed a two-year alliance agreement with the National Utility Contractors Association of South Florida (NUCA of South Florida) to reduce workers' exposure to trenching and excavation hazards. OSHA signed the alliance to coincide with Trench Safety Stand-Down Week, June 17-21.

The new alliance between OSHA's Fort Lauderdale Area Office and NUCA of South Florida will focus on cave-in protection, silica, heat stress, and atmospheric hazards associated with confined spaces. Participants will address worker rights and the recognition and prevention of workplace hazards.

The OSHA Alliance Program fosters collaborative relationships with organizations committed to worker safety and health. Alliance partners help OSHA reach targeted audiences, such as employers and workers in high-hazard industries, giving them better access to workplace safety and health tools and information.
